The G7 Leaders, in their Communiqué adopted on 14 June 2024 in Apulia, reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine and their strong commitment to helping Ukraine meet its urgent short-term financing needs, as well as to supporting its long-term recovery and reconstruction priorities. To that end, G7 Leaders announced the launch of the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration Loans for Ukraine initiative, in order to make available approximately USD 50 billion in additional funding for Ukraine’s military, budget and reconstruction needs by the end of 2024. G7 Leaders announced their intention to provide financing that will be serviced and repaid by future flows of extraordinary revenues stemming from the immobilisation of Russian sovereign assets held in the Union and other relevant jurisdictions.
