32025L1892#rec_55Directive (EU) 2025/1892 of the European Parliament and of the Council

Recital (55)

Delegated Decision (EU) 2019/1597 establishes a common methodology and minimum quality requirements for the uniform measurement of levels of food waste, in accordance with Article 9(8) of Directive 2008/98/EC. With a view to improving the quality, reliability and comparability of data reported by Member States on the levels of food waste, including by further enhancing the consistency of measurement methods used by the Member States, the power to adopt delegated acts set out in that provision should continue to be delegated to the Commission. For the purposes of clarity, that empowerment should be laid down, with minor adaptations, in a new Article that deals specifically with prevention of generation of food waste.
