32025R0914#rec_5Regulation (EU) 2025/914 of the European Parliament and of the Council

Recital (5)

Pursuant to Article 19d of Regulation (EU) 2016/1011, administrators of significant benchmarks are required to endeavour to provide an EU Climate Transition Benchmark or an EU Paris-aligned Benchmark. As this provision has proven difficult to enforce, it is appropriate to delete it. However, its deletion should not be understood as a reduction of the Union’s commitment to the objectives of the climate transition and of the Paris agreement. Therefore, in order to promote the use of common standards for climate-related benchmarks and to ensure their appropriate supply in the Union, benchmark administrators are encouraged to provide such benchmarks in the Union.
