In order to minimise the effects of any loss, economic operators, EU carriers and non-EU carriers should take the corrective measures necessary to restore compliance with this Regulation. The corrective measures required should be proportionate to the infringement detected and its expected harmful effects on the environment. Where competent authorities detect an infringement of this Regulation, they should notify the economic operator, the EU carrier or the non-EU carrier thereof and require that corrective measures be taken to restore compliance.
