In the area of maritime security, the Agency should continue to provide technical assistance to inspections carried out by the Commission in the framework of Regulation (EC) No 725/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council. Given that the number of cybersecurity incidents in the maritime sector has gone up significantly in recent years, the Agency should support Union efforts to prevent cybersecurity incidents and enhance cyber resilience in the maritime sector by facilitating the exchange of best practices and information on cybersecurity incidents between the Member States.
