This Regulation respects the fundamental rights and observes the principles enshrined in the Charter, in particular Article 7, which states, inter alia, that everyone has the right to respect for his or her private life and Article 8, which states that everyone has the right to the protection of personal data concerning him or her. It is imperative that this Regulation be implemented in full respect of those rights and principles.
