In order to prevent any disruption to the current operation and functioning of IPCHEM, the ECHA should incorporate IPCHEM in the common data platform together with the data present in IPCHEM at the time of incorporation. At the same time, in order to enable optimal hosting and management of occurrence data on chemicals, the Commission should also transfer the data present in IPCHEM to the ECHA, the EEA or the EFSA for hosting and future updating in accordance with their respective mandates. In order to ensure that the ECHA takes over the operation of IPCHEM from the Commission and incorporates it into the common data platform, takes over the initial datasets and sets up adequate data flows, it is necessary to allow the ECHA sufficient time to carry out those actions, namely up to 3 years from the date of entry into force of this Regulation.
