Recital (30)

Per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) are a large family of more than 10000 man-made chemicals. PFAS have been used in an increasingly wide range of products, including consumer products. A core concern is the persistency of all PFAS leading to increasing environmental concentrations. Exposure to the most studied PFAS has been associated with a range of adverse health effects. The intentional use of PFAS in toys, components of toys or micro-structurally distinct parts of toys should be prohibited.
