The collection and further processing of personal data, in the context of preventing, detecting and investigating migrant smuggling and trafficking in human beings, should be carried out by Europol in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/794 and Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and of the Council and in compliance with applicable Union data protection standards, including the principles of purpose limitation and necessity and proportionality.
