As the certification of defence products is key to ensuring the proper functioning of the internal market for defence products, in particular during a security-related supply crisis, this Regulation should enable, in addition to the acceleration of existing national processes, the mandatory mutual recognition of a crisis-relevant defence product lawfully certified in a Member State.
