32025R2649#rec_67Regulation (EU) 2025/2649 of the European Parliament and of the Council

Recital (67)

Based on the first years of implementation, it appears redundant to carry out on-the-spot checks on interventions that are monitored by Copernicus Sentinels satellite data or other data with at least equivalent value, entailing an unjustified burden for the Member States and farmers. Therefore, for those eligibility conditions, Member States should not be obliged to carry out on-the-spot checks, including those executed remotely through the use of technology. To that end, Article 72 of Regulation (EU) 2021/2116 should be amended accordingly.
