32026L0799#rec_23Directive (EU) 2026/799 of the European Parliament and of the Council

Recital (23)

Directive (EU) 2024/1640 provides that centralised automated mechanisms, such as central registers or central electronic data retrieval systems, are to be interconnected via BARIS, which is to be developed and operated by the Commission. Considering the growing importance of insolvency cases with cross-border implications and the importance of relevant financial information for the purpose of maximising the value of the insolvency estate in insolvency proceedings, the designated courts or administrative authorities should be able to access and search the bank account registers of other Member States directly through BARIS.
