The Commission should report on the possibility of including an extended producer responsibility mechanism in Directive 2000/60/EC. That report should take into account experience gained in particular from implementing the provisions concerning extended producer responsibility in the Union legislation on urban waste-water treatment, waste, and single-use plastics.
