This Directive requires Member States to adopt and publish a national strategy on preventing and combatting corruption. Member States are encouraged to develop the national strategy in consultation with civil society, anti-corruption bodies or organisational units, independent experts, researchers and other stakeholders. The national strategy should take into account the Member States’ needs, specificities and challenges.
