32026L1024#rec_1Directive (EU) 2026/1024 of the European Parliament and of the Council

Recital (1)

Directive (EU) 2015/2302 of the European Parliament and of the Council modernised the legal framework for package travel in light of market developments and advances in technology. That Directive sought to address new ways of booking travel services, including customised combinations of travel services, which were not covered by Council Directive 90/314/EEC or which fell within a legal grey area, while strengthening the rights of travellers in various respects. Directive (EU) 2015/2302 also aimed to ensure fairer competition between the different types of travel businesses operating in the package travel market.
