Article 8 — Prior surveillance measures

1. The Commission may adopt prior surveillance measures with regard to imports of a product from a country concerned where the trend of imports of that product is such that it could lead to one of the situations referred to in Articles 3, 5 and 6. Those prior surveillance measures shall be adopted by means of implementing acts in accordance with the advisory procedure referred to in Article 19(2). 2. Prior surveillance measures shall be valid for a limited period. Unless otherwise provided, they shall cease to be valid at the end of the second six-month period following the first six months after the introduction of those measures.
