The report from the Commission entitled Implementing the prohibition of unfair trading practices to strengthen the position of farmers and operators in the agricultural and food supply chain – State of play of 23 April 2024 highlighted the persistence of imbalances in the agricultural and food supply chain, which increases the need for new measures to step up protection for suppliers and ensure sufficient bargaining power to all operators.
