For greater efficiency it is also appropriate to facilitate the filing of multiple applications for registered EU designs by allowing applicants to combine designs in one application without being subject to the condition that the products into which the designs are intended to be incorporated or to which they are intended to be applied all belong to the same class of the Locarno Classification established by the Locarno Agreement Establishing an International Classification for Industrial Designs, signed at Locarno on 8 October 1968. However, a maximum limit should be provided for to avoid the potential abuse of multiple filings.
