Regulation (EC) No 1927/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council established the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) for the multiannual financial framework 2007-2013. The EGF was established to enable the Union to show solidarity towards workers who had lost their jobs as a result of major structural changes in world trade patterns due to globalisation.
