Having regard to their potential to reduce food waste, Member States should support innovative and technological solutions that accurately indicate the shelf-life of a food, ensure food safety and, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, provide information, including the indication of minimum durability or use-by dates, that is clear and easily understood by consumers.
