Member States are encouraged to include age-appropriate training on road safety rules and traffic risk awareness as part of their primary and secondary school curricula, also reflecting the increased popularity of personal mobility devices such as e-bikes and e-scooters. Learning the basic road safety rules at a young age can help prevent road traffic accidents, by fostering awareness and developing responsible behaviour, thereby empowering citizens from a young age to make safe decisions on the basis of a solid knowledge of the applicable rules and risks. The Commission is encouraged to enable and support exchanges of best practices between Member States and their authorities, including through financial support.
