Minimum standards concerning access to the profession of driving examiner and driving examiner training requirements should be established in order to improve the knowledge and skills of examiners, including hazard perception testing, thereby ensuring the more objective evaluation of driving licence applicants, and achieving greater harmonisation of driving tests. Moreover, the Commission should be empowered to adopt delegated acts to amend those minimum standards, in order to adapt them to any technical, operational or scientific developments in this field, including advanced driver assistance systems and automated driving systems, where it becomes necessary.
