In order to properly achieve those objectives, it is appropriate that the Agency carry out specific tasks in the area of maritime safety, environmental sustainability, decarbonisation of the maritime sector, maritime security and cybersecurity, maritime surveillance and maritime crises, the promotion of the digitalisation and facilitation of exchanges of data in the maritime domain. In order to focus on specific challenges and to ensure the cost-efficiency of the tasks the Agency is carrying out, the Management Board of the Agency (the Management Board) should have the right to prioritise certain tasks and activities in the Agency’s annual and multiannual planning.
