Mandatory collection of data within the ESS on the basis of this Regulation is intended to facilitate the regular and timely monitoring of progress in the implementation of the principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights, in the achievement of the headline targets of the related Action Plan, and in the achievement of the aims of the European Child Guarantee established by Council Recommendation (EU) 2021/1004 at national level, while also providing data to facilitate the assessment of the distributional impact of climate change and relevant policies.
