The enhanced regular (annual and infra-annual) statistics on population and housing should be complemented with information from coordinated population and housing censuses in the Union, conducted every 10 years in accordance with the UN Principles and Recommendations for Population and Housing Censuses. Population and housing censuses provide a unique opportunity to render official statistics visible in terms of operation and results.
