On 20 July 2023, the European Parliament and the Council adopted Regulation (EU) 2023/1525, aimed at urgently supporting the ramp-up of manufacturing capacities of the European defence industry, securing supply chains, facilitating efficient procurement procedures, addressing shortfalls in production capacities and promoting investments. On 18 October 2023, the European Parliament and the Council adopted Regulation (EU) 2023/2418, aimed at supporting collaboration between Member States in the procurement phase to fill the most urgent and critical gaps in a collaborative way, especially those gaps created by the response to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
