In accordance with the Stockholm Convention and Regulation (EU) 2019/1021, Member States are obliged to ensure the protection of human health and the environment from persistent organic pollutants. Member States are required to monitor the presence of persistent organic pollutants in the environment in accordance with Article 13(1), point (d), of Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 implementing the requirements of Article 11(1) of the Stockholm Convention.
