In seeking to achieve a high level of environmental protection and in implementing the Zero Pollution Action Plan set out in the communication of the Commission of 12 May 2021 on the Pathway to a Healthy Planet for All – EU Action Plan: Towards Zero Pollution for Air, Water and Soil, the Union should take account of the diversity of situations in the different regions of the Union, the impact on food security, food production and food affordability, as well as healthy and sustainable diets.
