Although Directive (EU) 2015/2302 has worked well overall, several challenges have emerged since the start of its application on 1 July 2018. In particular, the COVID-19 pandemic and related government measures had a significant impact on both the travel industry and travellers and showed that certain provisions of that Directive, including those on the information to be provided to travellers, should be clarified.
