Therefore, it is necessary to close the gaps identified in the current rules, and to clarify and simplify certain concepts and provisions, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of Directive (EU) 2015/2302 for the benefit of travellers and travel businesses, amongst which there are a large number of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
