Digital labelling could also create challenges for vulnerable population groups with no or insufficient digital skills and accentuate the digital divide. For that reason, the specific information to be provided on a digital label only should reflect the current level of digital readiness and the particular situation of users of detergents, as well as the readiness of the wireless and other technological infrastructure necessary for allowing unrestricted access to the information. In addition, all the labelling information concerning the protection of health and of the environment, as well as minimum-use instructions for detergents, should remain on the physical label, to enable consumers and other end-users to make informed choices before buying the detergent and to ensure its safe handling.
