It should be possible for economic operators, industry associations or other interested parties to submit a request to ECHA for assessment for a permitted use concerning a certain substance subject to a generic prohibition. ECHA should draw up and make available the format for the submission of requests for assessment. In addition, for reasons of transparency and foreseeability, ECHA should issue technical and scientific guidance on such requests for assessment.
